The debut EP from Caswell, The Shadow Aspect, is named after the Jungian concept of the unconscious ‘dark side’ of humans’ personality, and Caswell’s themes and lyrics shine a light on this aspect of character that is otherwise hidden.

“I draw from my own personal experiences,” says Caswell. “I find that's when I really need to write. It's very much a form of catharsis for me and I like having created something positive like a song out of something negative that has happened in my life. We often just portray our 'best selves' to the majority of people- the more attractive attributes and characteristics we want others to define us by. It's rare we voluntarily express our vulnerabilities and weaknesses to society. That's what I tried to talk about in The Shadow Aspect, things I didn't particularly want people to know".

It explores the many facets of Caswell’s inspirations; soulful layered arrangements take partnership with subtle lyrics over experimental soundscapes, to create something truly unique.
